Three steps forward, one look of profound disappointment, immediate removal. Four miniature foam shoes for the dog who has never once asked to coordinate an outfit. This is not essential equipment, and we refuse to pretend otherwise. But as dog purchases go, it produced a useful mix of entertainment, curiosity and genuine canine interest.
