Back-Seat ExtenderThe Hard-Bottom Back-Seat Extender
“Business class, but someone is still licking the window.”
The back seat is a suite
The short version
What happened when we tried it
Pickles and Bear stopped sliding into the footwell and immediately resumed arguing over the window. A padded bridge over the rear footwell that creates a broad, stable platform for two compact passengers. This is not essential equipment, and we refuse to pretend otherwise. But as dog purchases go, it produced a useful mix of entertainment, curiosity and genuine canine interest.
Best for
Road trips, two-dog households and cars that deserve protection from Frenchie debris.
The evidence
Good dog. Questionable purchase.
We judge products on what they do in a normal home—not what the box promises in a studio. That means watching setup time, cleanup, durability, the dog's first reaction and whether anyone still wants the thing around a week later.
The good
- Stable flat surface
- Protects the upholstery
- Fits two small dogs comfortably
The nonsense
- Vehicle fit varies
- Bulky when stored
- Dogs still need proper restraints
